Spirit Airlines charges for flight cancellations based on how soon before the flight you cancel. Typically, canceling closer to the departure date results in higher fees. However, Spirit allows a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours of booking, as long as the departure is more than seven days away. Beyond that, cancellation fees range depending on the type of fare you purchased and how far in advance you make the cancellation.
To cancel your flight, visit the Spirit Airlines website or app and head to “My Trips.” There, you can follow the cancellation process. Spirit also offers a “Flight Flex” option that allows travelers to make a one-time change without paying a hefty penalty. However, this option must be added when booking the flight.
